Well, according to E!Online,

"the 14-year-old child star—she turns 15 on Feb. 23—is in talks to play Jane opposite Robert Pattinson & Co. in New Moon, the upcoming sequel to box office megahit Twilight."

“There were no auditions,” a source reveals. “They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations. They’ve been going back and forth.”

Update: JustJaredJr.com has stated that Hudgens has not auditioned.

Can you imagine watching Vanessa Hudgens playing Leah Clearwater in New Moon? Well there's a possibility that exact thing might occur. According to MTV.com,

High School Musical" starlet Vanessa Hudgens — has apparently taken the next step and auditioned for the role, according to "Twilight" actress Ashley Greene.

We ran into Alice herself at a Golden Globes afterparty, and she told us she'd be happy to co-star with Hudgens. "I think she'd be great," Greene enthused.


Well, we will see how it all plays out since filming starts in 2 months, but one worrying thing about the movie is that in this article Ashely Green (Alice) stated that:

"I hear they're doing another rewrite," the actress revealed of the in-flux script. "I'm with you guys — I'm so excited to read it."

l can't wait for the DVD, the special features would surely be better than the movie. :P

 

I'd just like to add that I was very much a part of this decision. My first priority was always what was best for New Moon—what was going to give us the best possible movie. I'm truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I'm very much looking forward to seeing what he's going to bring to Jacob's character this year.

Summit Entertainment added the Twilight DVD Cover to their site. Also ShockTillYouDrop.com stated that the word from Summit was that the movie is to come out March 21st. However, it is not official from Summit, so treat this as a rumour!
